Terms of Service

Last updated 15 September 2026

The agreement between you and RPG Forge: what you may do here, what we owe you, and what happens to the worlds you build.

Agreement

These terms govern your use of rpgforge.ai. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service. We refer to RPG Forge as "we" or "us", and to you as "you".

You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Your account

Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at support@rpgforge.ai if you believe someone else has access to it. Do not create an account on someone else's behalf without their permission, and do not evade a suspension by opening a new one.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you make. The worlds, characters, items and other material you create remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.

To run the service we need your permission to use that material, so by uploading anything - a world, an image, a voice clip, a prompt - you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store it, copy it, display it, adapt it as the service requires (resizing an image, converting an audio clip, formatting text for a screen), and send the relevant parts to the AI providers who generate play. Non-exclusive means you keep every right you had: you can use the same material anywhere else, sell it, or license it to someone else, and you do not need to ask us.

If you publish a world, that license extends to showing it publicly and letting other people play and remix it, for as long as it remains published. Unpublishing ends the public part going forward. It cannot retract copies other people already took, and the license survives for those copies, because a remix someone else has built on cannot be unmade by a decision you take later. The same is true of a voice you share to the public library.

This license is what lets the service function, and it is the whole of what we ask. It is not a transfer: uploading something here does not make it ours, does not stop being yours, and does not give us the right to sell your work or train a model on it. We rely on the license only to run RPG Forge and to show what you chose to publish.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and that applies to every kind of file you can put here: cover art and portraits, item and location images, voice clips, and the text of a world itself. Do not upload material that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark, and do not use the service to reproduce a copyrighted work you do not have the right to reproduce. The Upload Policy sets out the limits for each kind of file and what gets one removed.

Worlds are private to you by default. Publishing one is a separate, deliberate step, and a published world goes through review before it appears in the catalogue. Review is a check for obvious breaches, not a clearance: it is not a finding that your world is free of other people's rights, and it does not shift responsibility for that from you to us.

Remixing copies. When someone remixes a published world, they receive their own independent copy of its contents at that moment. Their copy does not update when yours does, and it does not disappear when yours does. Unpublishing or deleting a world removes that world; it does not reach into copies other people already took. If material has to come out of the remixes as well, say so when you write to us and we will deal with those separately.

Voices

You can create a voice by uploading or recording an audio clip, which we process into a voice model that can then speak in your games. A voice is not ordinary content: it belongs to a real person, and the law in many places treats it that way.

Only clone a voice you have the right to clone. That means your own voice, or one whose owner has given you permission to use it here. We ask you to confirm this when you create a voice, and that confirmation is a promise you are making to us and to them.

Regardless of any permission you believe you have, do not use voices to:

  • Imitate a real, identifiable person in a way designed to be taken as genuinely them, whether to deceive, to defraud, or to put words in their mouth.
  • Clone a public figure, performer, politician or candidate for office. We do not accept these even with a claim of authorization, because we have no way to verify one.
  • Clone the voice of a child, or of anyone who has asked you not to.
  • Harass, defame or sexualise the person whose voice it is.

Publishing a voice to the public library is a second and separate decision from creating it, and it needs the consent of the person it belongs to for that too. Sharing a voice lets other people use it in their own games, which is a wider permission than using it in yours.

If a voice is yours and you did not agree to it, write to us at support@rpgforge.ai and we will take it down. You do not need to own a copyright to make that request, and you do not need to prove anything formal: it is your voice, which is enough. We will remove the voice model and the clip it was built from, and unshare it from the library.

Generated content

Play and world generation are produced by third-party large language models. Output is generated on demand, is not reviewed by us before you see it, and may be inaccurate, inconsistent or unlike what you expected. The same input will not reliably produce the same output. Do not rely on generated text as factual, professional or legal advice.

As between you and us, output generated for you in your worlds is yours to use. We make no promise that it is unique: models can produce similar text for different people, and we cannot guarantee that any given output is free of third-party rights.

The same applies to images. Some of the image models we offer apply their own content filters and some do not, and where one refuses a prompt the service may offer you a model that accepts it. That choice is about the model's filter, not about permission: a model being willing to draw something is not a finding that you are allowed to. Do not prompt for a recognizable copyrighted character, a trademarked design, or the likeness of a real person, on any model.

Acceptable use

Do not use RPG Forge to:

  • Create or solicit sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises a real person without their consent.
  • Harass, threaten or defame a real person, or publish someone's private information.
  • Produce material that promotes terrorism or incites violence against a person or group.
  • Break the law, infringe intellectual property, or circumvent the safety measures of the service or of any model provider.
  • Attack the service: scraping at scale, probing for vulnerabilities, overwhelming it with automated traffic, or reselling access to it.
  • Misrepresent generated output as human-authored where doing so would deceive someone to their detriment.

Fiction gets latitude. Dark themes, violence and morally ugly characters are the normal material of a role-playing game, and writing them is not a breach of these terms. The list above is about real people and real harm, not about whether a story is comfortable.

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond, but we may act first when the content is seriously harmful or the service is at risk.

Copyright and takedown

We respond to copyright complaints under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and equivalent law elsewhere. If material on RPG Forge infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to act for, tell us and we will deal with it.

Send a notice to support@rpgforge.ai with the subject line "Copyright notice", including:

  • Your name, address and email, and who you act for if it is not yourself.
  • The work you say has been infringed, described well enough for us to recognize it. A link is ideal.
  • Where the material is on RPG Forge: the URL of the world, the profile, the voice or the image. "Somewhere on your site" is not something we can act on.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized.
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that under penalty of perjury you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
  • Your signature, typed is fine.

We aim to answer within a few days. Where a notice is valid we remove or hide the material and tell the person who posted it what was removed and why, passing on your notice. Bear in mind that a knowingly false claim of infringement carries liability of its own, so please do not send one about something you simply dislike.

If your material was removed and you believe that was wrong, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It needs your contact details, identification of what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of a court where you live or where we are, and your signature. We pass it to whoever complained. Unless they tell us they have started a court case, we may restore the material after ten to fourteen business days.

Repeat infringers lose their accounts. Two or more valid notices against you, or a clear pattern of using other people's material without permission, will end your account in appropriate circumstances.

Copyright is not the only reason to write. If a voice is yours, if a world uses your likeness or your private information, or if something about you is on here that should not be, the same address reaches us and you do not need to frame it as a copyright claim.

Energy, credits and payment

Generating content costs us money per request, so the AI features are metered. Energy comes from a subscription plan and expires at the end of each billing period. Credits are bought in packs and do not expire. Energy is spent before credits. Joining someone else's game is free to you: a session runs on the host's balance.

Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details. A plan renews monthly on the day you subscribed until you cancel it, which you can do at any time from the pricing page. Canceling stops the next renewal and nothing else, and you keep what you have already been granted until the period you paid for ends.

Energy and credits are a license to use the service, not currency. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts. If something has gone wrong with a purchase, write to support@rpgforge.ai and we will look at it with you. Your statutory rights, including any right to cancel a purchase under consumer law where you live, are unaffected by anything in this section.

We may change prices or what a purchase includes. Changes apply to future purchases and renewals, never retroactively to something you already bought, and we will give notice of a change to a plan before it takes effect.

Availability

This is an actively developed project run by a small team. Features change, and parts of the service may be unavailable for maintenance or because a model provider is down. We do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service as a whole, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your worlds.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that we are legally required to close. Anything that should sensibly outlive the agreement survives it: ownership of content, the disclaimers below, and any amount already owed.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted content, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those limits do not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We will update the date at the top of this page when these terms change, and give notice in the app for anything significant. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using the service and close your account.
