Dead people leave a body where they fall, holding everything they were carrying - so looting is searching a corpse rather than picking things off the floor, and a body can be dragged away with its kit still on it. A body can be butchered for the meat it carries - raw meat to eat or cook over a fire - or buried. A creature with no meat simply drops what it carried, as everyone does when this is deleted.
